Refund & Returns Policy
1. General Information
We strive to ensure your satisfaction with every Feketeleves order. This policy explains when and how refunds, returns, complaints and exchanges can be requested in accordance with applicable EU and Slovak consumer law.
2. Warranty (Legal Liability for Lack of Conformity)
We are legally liable for any lack of conformity that exists at the time the goods are delivered to you, in accordance with applicable EU and Slovak consumer law.
For most consumer goods, the general statutory liability period is 24 months from delivery. Certain categories of goods may be subject to different statutory periods depending on their nature and applicable law. For products with a stated shelf life or best-before date, the nature of the goods, the printed date, and compliance with storage instructions may be relevant when resolving a complaint.
3. Defects & Complaints
To report a defect or submit a complaint, please use the appropriate form at the bottom of this page. If you prefer the traditional email route, you may instead contact us at [email protected].
If you contact us by email, please include:
- Your order number
- The item(s) concerned
- A brief description of the issue
- Clear photos (especially for damage or defects)
- Batch number (for food-grade items)
Complaints will be handled in accordance with applicable Slovak consumer law. We will issue confirmation of the complaint and process it without undue delay, within the applicable legal time limits, which may be up to 30 days depending on the circumstances.
If the complaint is justified, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law and may provide a replacement, repair, price reduction, refund, or another appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances. Slovak guidance also says the seller cannot reject a complaint merely because the customer no longer has the original packaging.
Additional Information Regarding The Outlet Product Category
Outlet products may include returned items, previous stock, items with damaged packaging, or items with clearly disclosed cosmetic imperfections. A complaint cannot be based solely on a characteristic or imperfection that was clearly disclosed before purchase. This does not affect your statutory rights if the product has an additional undisclosed defect or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
4. Returns
As a customer, you may exercise your right of withdrawal within 14 days of delivery in accordance with applicable EU and Slovak consumer law. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the item is defective, incorrect, or applicable law provides otherwise. The item should be returned complete and packed appropriately for transport. Please note that you may be responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning. If you chose a delivery method more expensive than the cheapest standard delivery method we offer for your delivery address, the refund of delivery charges will be limited to the cost of that cheapest standard delivery method.

Additional Information Regarding Article 16(e) of Directive 2011/83/EU
In accordance with Article 16(e) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery. For sealed food-grade products, the right of withdrawal therefore does not apply after the protective seal has been opened or broken after delivery.
5. Exchanges
We understand that mistakes happen. If you accidentally ordered the wrong products, we accept requests for discretionary exchanges within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unopened, unused, and its original protective seal is fully intact.
How to request an exchange:
Please email us at [email protected] with your order number and the item you wish to receive instead. Do not mail the item back until we have confirmed the exchange.
Exchange Costs & Conditions:
Please note that for discretionary exchanges, the customer is responsible for all associated shipping costs. This includes the cost of returning the original item to our facility, as well as the shipping fee to send the new item to you. If there is a price difference between the original item and the new item, you will receive a secure payment link to cover the balance and the new shipping fee before the replacement is dispatched. All items returned for exchange are subject to inspection upon arrival. If an exchange item is returned opened, used, or damaged, the exchange request may be refused or subject to a deduction for diminished value.
This exchange policy does not apply to defective or incorrect items sent by us, which are fully covered under Section 3.
6. Refund Timeline
Once we receive your returned item, where applicable, refunds are processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days from receiving the withdrawal notice, using the original payment method. We will notify you once the refund has been issued. In accordance with applicable law, we reserve the right to withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is earlier. Returned items may be checked upon arrival for condition and completeness.
