Make Your Espresso Workflow More Precise
A great espresso doesn’t start with tamping—it starts with how your coffee grounds are distributed. Even the best grinders can create inconsistencies during different stages of grinding that settle unevenly in your portafilter. That’s where the Blind Shaker comes in.
By shaking your ground coffee before tamping, you break up clumps, settle fines more evenly, and ensure that beans coming out first and last from your grinder will all live in utopian equality in your cup. This leads to reduced channeling, better flow rates, and tastier espresso. In other words, more sweetness, more balance, and fewer sink shots.
We really hope you enjoy this product!
Do I still need a WDT tool if I use this?
Yes, and they work great together. The blind shaker helps pre-distribute the grounds, while a WDT tool further breaks up clumps and perfects the bed. Many baristas use both to create an ideal puck before tamping.
Will it improve my espresso if I don’t have a high-end grinder?
Yes. In fact, it’s especially helpful if your grinder produces uneven grind distribution or clumps. The blind shaker compensates for some of those inconsistencies and helps you get more out of your current setup.
Can I use it for other brew methods too?
While it’s primarily designed for espresso, some users like to use it when preparing filter coffee to ensure consistency. But for most manual brew methods, it’s not necessary.
The easiest is just to use a
brush to remove the grounds stuck on its surface. The matte metal finish is
durable and easy to maintain.
